Facelift – Facial skin tension

This treatment is used to correct sagging facial skin, so the face regains a youthful and fresh appearance. This is achieved by lifting and tightening, not just the skin, which loses its elasticity with age, but also of the subcutaneous tissue, which gradually disappears with time.

Through this operation, the biological aging process is not stopped, but made sure that the person looks younger and fresher for her age. In practice, we often combine this method with other techniques to obtain harmonious relations between the parts of the face (FRONT LIFTING AND EYEBROW LIFTING, eyelid surgery, LIPOSUCTION UNDER THE CHIN, liposculpture, BOTOX INJECTION, DERMABRASION).

Sometimes these techniques are performed simultaneously and sometimes individually. Are necessary prior review of the general health and laboratory analyzes. It is performed under local anesthesia and intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. The procedure takes two to three hours. The classical surgical technique involves an incision through the skin over the temporal region, which continues downwardly below the pinna and then behind the ear lobe and the ear and ends in the region of the back of the head. A thin layer of the skin is raised against the face and neck and then the muscle connecting layer (SMAS) is tightened. The raised skin is pulled obliquely upward, and the excess is removed and then the incision is sutured. Depending on the severity and localization problem, less extensive techniques with shorter incisions are applied. There is also the possibility of making skin tightening with permanent sutures without visible scars.

Usually, the visit will last one in the hospital until three days. The face is connected to soft dressings and the head held upright as possible. The swelling can be expressed in the first days of mild to moderate, with incidence of bruising. The bandage can be removed on the second day because of the hair washing. The stitches are removed after seven days. The decrease in swelling and bruising takes up to two weeks. Di insensitivity of the facial skin during this time is temporary. The resumption of work depends on the size of the intervention, the recovery course and the performing profession. Intensive activities in the period of one month are not recommended.

Longer expose the sun should be avoided until about six weeks. In final results up to six months must be serviced. Visible scars or gelichtetes hair, as well as nerve damage are rare.
